AVL is the leading test system provider and is developing a scenario-based open verification and validation toolchain to generate operational scenarios, create the relevant test cases, and execute testing and homologation of automated driving functions in combined virtual and real road environments.
AVL’s tool chain strategy is based on an open and integrated tool environment and allows the integration of VIRES VTD and ADAMS from MSC. It is an important aspect of the virtual and real validation of autonomous vehicles. This gives customers access to some of the best-in-class autonomous simulation and testing technologies available in the world.
ASAM (Association for Standardization of Automation and Measuring Systems) is a non-profit organization that promotes standardization for tool chains in automotive development and testing.
The ASAM Membership consists of over 250 member organizations worldwide. These member organizations are automotive OEMs, suppliers, tool vendors, engineering service providers and research institutes. VIRES Simulationstechnologie GmbH has played an important role in the Open Standards like OPENDRIVE, OPENCRG and OPENSCENARIO and successfully transferred these to ASAM. Currently, VIRES is active member in further advancements of these standards under the umbrella of ASAM and other organizations.
